Dear Honea Path Residents,

On July 18, 2024, the town of Honea Path made a strategic decision to turn over the Residential and Commercial garbage collection to Kirby Sanitation due to the continued rising cost of collection as well as labor shortages, which are common with most municipalities. We are honored and privileged to have been chosen as the contractor to handle all the town of Honea Path’s sanitation needs. We currently service many municipalities, so rest assured the town of Honea Path is in great hands!

Kirby Sanitation will start all Residential and Commercial garbage collection the first week of September 2024 which includes the Labor Day holiday. All garbage collection will run a day behind that week. There will also be some very minimal but meticulously calculated changes during the transition process to ensure the most efficiency and to minimize any errors in collection. Our first priority is to transition as seamlessly as possible and to make sure each and every resident is serviced properly.

Residential Route Collection:

· Monday collection will remain on Mondays with the exception of the holiday which will push collection to Tuesday that week.

· Tuesday collection will be changed to Wednesdays with the exception of the holiday which will push collection to Thursday that week.

· Thursday collection will remain on Thursdays with the exception of the holiday which will push collection to Friday.

Commercial Route Collection:

· All commercial garbage collection will be on either Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays with the exception of the holiday week which will make collection Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday

· Most collections will be done on Mondays.

· Businesses with multiple services, the additional service will be done on Wednesdays and/or Fridays.

· All Commercial businesses will be receiving new front load dumpsters. The sizes of the boxes are equivalent to what you have just have a different shape.

Instructions For Residential Garbage Collection:

· Please place all carts out the night before to ensure proper service as we do start early!

· Please place all carts with wheels facing the house due to automated equipment being used to prevent damage or litter during collection.

· Please place carts within 3 ft of road and clear from all obstructions such as cars, mailboxes, etc.

· If you are currently an in yard (handicap) pick up, please place carts visible from the road.

· We prefer that all trash be placed in the cart due to automated equipment being used. If extra carts are needed, they are available through town hall at an extremely discounted rate.

Kirby Sanitation will be providing all Residents with new 96-gallon roll carts sometime between September and October! We will send out notice prior to delivery. We do ask all residents when you receive your new cart, please leave the old cart out at the road for pick up per the Town of Honea path as you will need to put your old cart out to receive your new cart. All new carts will come with a sticker on top that has our current holiday schedule as well as instructions for cart placement and prohibited items. Thanks for your patience and cooperation! Billing:

· All billing will remain the same and be handled through the town of Honea Path.

· Any new resident or businesses interested in sanitation collection will need to contact the Town Hall to set service as well as residents needing additional carts.
