HONEA PATH, SC — Construction is nearly complete on the new regulation-size soccer field located on Brook Street in Honea Path. The long-anticipated project, led by Ashley Corp. of Greenwood, saw major progress this month with the installation of electricity and water lines, a successful test of the irrigation system, and fresh sod laid this past Saturday. The field is expected to be fully completed by September 1, weather permitting.

Mayor Pro Tem Jim Taylor extended gratitude to all who contributed to the project, emphasizing its impact on the community. “This new field is a testament to what we can accomplish when we work together,” said Taylor.

The soccer field is the result of a collaborative effort involving State Senator Mike Gambrell, the Town of Honea Path, Honea Path First Baptist Church, and Ashley Corp. It marks a significant step in expanding recreational opportunities and promoting youth sports in the area.
