Honea Path Judge Passes Away

HONEA PATH | The Town of Honea Path is deeply saddened by the passing of Hon. James D. Green, Jr., who served as an Anderson County Magistrate and Municipal Judge for the Town of Honea Path.

Judge Green passed away Saturday afternoon, August 29, 2026.

A dedicated public servant, Judge Green spent many years serving the people of Anderson County and Honea Path with fairness, commitment, and a strong sense of duty. His service on the bench was only one part of a life devoted to others.

Judge Green was also a proud Eagle Scout, served as a Boy Scout leader in Honea Path, and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.

His passing is a great loss to our community and to the many people whose lives he touched through his leadership, friendship, and service.

The Town of Honea Path extends its heartfelt condolences to Judge Green’s family, friends, colleagues, and all who knew and loved him. Please keep the Green family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
