Watkins Community Center Announces 2026 Summer Theatre Camp Registration

Honea Path, SC – May 1, 2026 – The Watkins Community Center is excited to announce registration for its 2026 Summer Theatre Camp, open to children ages 6 to 17. Enrollment is limited to 30 campers, with two additional reserve spots available. Due to high demand, early registration is strongly encouraged.

Registration will take place in Room 10 at the Watkins Community Center (located in the hallway to the left of the main double-door entrance) on the following dates:

  • Thursday, May 7: 3:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Friday, May 8: 3:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 9: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Friday, May 15: 3:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 16: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Camp will be held Monday, July 13 through Friday, July 17, 2026, with final performances scheduled for the evenings of:

  • Thursday, July 16
  • Friday, July 17

This year’s original production, “Ariel: Life on Land,” follows Ariel’s adventures after she leaves the ocean and promises a fun, creative experience for all participants.

Campers will spend the week working together to create and perform a brand-new play. There are roles for all ages—boys and girls—and the camp offers a welcoming environment filled with creativity, teamwork, food, and friendship.

The nonrefundable registration fee is $50.00 per camper, payable by cash or check at the time of registration. Parents or guardians must complete all required forms to secure a spot. While pre-registration is not available, families are encouraged to print and complete forms in advance to speed up the process.

If a parent or guardian is unable to attend during registration times, a friend or family member may register on their behalf. They should be prepared to indicate photo permission preferences for use in local newspapers and the WCC website.

Camp has filled quickly in past years, reaching capacity early, so families are encouraged to register as soon as possible.
