25 Years Later: Honea Path Remembers September 11, 2001

The Honea Path Fire Department will host a special 25th Anniversary 9/11 Memorial Service on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Honea Path Fire Department, located at 200 N. Shirley Avenue, Honea Path, SC 29654.

The community is invited to attend this meaningful service as we commemorate 25 years since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

The service will provide an opportunity to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost that day and to honor the firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency responders, military personnel, and citizens whose courage and sacrifice became a lasting symbol of the American spirit.

For members of the fire service, September 11 holds a particularly significant place in history. 343 firefighters with the New York City Fire Department gave their lives while responding to the World Trade Center, along with many other first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice while working to save others.

Twenty-five years later, their bravery and service continue to be remembered by fire departments and communities across the country.

The Honea Path Fire Department welcomes residents, families, veterans, first responders, and community leaders to join together for this time of reflection and remembrance.
